Our Newest Addition to the Family....

For Chad's birthday, his Grandma gave him her 1996 Bronco. Now to anyone who knows Chad-- knows that this gift...was...well...the coolest EVER. Chad loves Broncos. Chad has ALWAYS driven a Bronco. That is until...Lacey entered his life. After we got married, I decided I wanted a new car. We traded in his bronco (good thing too..cause it was breaking down baby...) and bought a Jeep. Ever since then, he's pouted. It's been cute watching him pout for 7 years ;) hehehe. So when his Grandma bought herself a new truck, and no longer needed this bronco...she passed the golden keys of freedom off to her oldest Grandchild...my husband...who is no longer pouting. Eh, it works for me!!!!

Super Saturday Fun!!!

I have never done a "relief society" activity before in my life...why? I typically end up feeling very inadequate. And, sadly, have been in some wards in my life..where I did not feel at all welcome in the Relief Society. God has blessed me though, at this time in my life, to find a ward full of ladies...that I can call "friend". Ladies that speak to me, and laugh with me, and ask me "Lacey, how are you doing..." And you know what? I know they really care. So I got brave, and I signed up to do "Super Saturday"! They had SO many fun crafts to pick from, but I ended up picking this one. "Family", kinda says it all to me ya know?! So I just spent a fabulous 3 hours with a group of friends, and sisters in faith. I sat by my pal Leeann, and had some much needed laughs. I spoke to some sisters who have recently gone through the same loss and pain that I have. I found some great strength and support from these sisters. All-in-all, it was a great mini-vacation! No kids, no worries, no stress. Just me, a great craft and great company (oh yeah, and a free lunch..BO YA!) hehehe.

In Honor of ALL who have served our Country, or who serve it still....

It is easy to take liberty for granted, when you have never had it taken from you.  ~Author unknown, sometimes attributed to M. Grundler

In war, there are no unwounded soldiers.

This nation will remain the land of the free only so long as it is the home of the brave.

But fame is theirs - and future days
On pillar'd brass shall tell their praise;
Shall tell - when cold neglect is dead -
"These for their country fought and bled."

~Philip Freneau

Freedom is never free.

I think there is one higher office than president and I would call that patriot.  ~Gary Hart

Happy Veterans Day!!!

My little Guy!

My poor kiddo...my mom and I shopped him into a coma! We went to Tia Pan (sp?) Trading co. and he instantly fell in love with "The Christmas Store" as he dubbed it. After walking through row after row of Santa's, trees, lights, tree decorations, garlands, statues and Christmas glory...we started on the trip home. This is what happened about 10 minutes into our drive. I looked over to see my poor little elf...sound asleep. What a trooper ;)!

Happy Birthday My Wonderful Chad!

Happy 30th Birthday my amazing husband, I love you!!! You are the other half of my soul and my heart.  You give me strength and joy and love. Our kids couldn't ask for a better dad, and I couldn't ask for a better spouse, best friend, or eternal companion. Happy Birthday my Chadders!

Seek after His approval....

"Sometimes [we seek] approval so frantically that we become torn and confused by the conflicting needs of those around us.
Concentrating on pleasing Heavenly Father brings peace, a respite from fear and anxiety."
